Élevages Mallet Barsalou is located in St-Lin, Québec in Canada. Our farm is nestled in the Laurentians only forty minutes north of the city of Montreal and is owned and operated by Serge Barsalou and Patricia Mallet. We are a small but quality oriented breeding operation dedicated to offering you foals with some of the finest Trakehner bloodlines. A bit about us and our history Serge and I are both born and bred into the automotive industry. Serge’s family owned a reknown automobile dealership; Chateau, in Ville St-Laurent, and my parents were involved in automobile auctions in the Montreal area. Today, Serge is still involved in sales with a Toronto based company and I am a first generation automobile auctioneer. We both love our careers but each had always dreamed of buying our own little farm and working with a different kind of Horse Power! I grew up on a 49 acre horse farm and was now living in the city. It all begins when Serge first started to realize his dream when he bought a little farm of 10 acres along side a small river in the Laurentians. There was a lot of work to be done, the garage needed to be converted into a 6 stall barn, the paddock fences needed to be constructed and of course the first horse needed to be bought. Serge was looking for a trail horse and came upon a little jewel while answering an ad in the newspaper. He fell in love as he watched this Black/White Pinto galloping around in a paddock and jumping any obstacles in his way. His name was Zipper and he stood 15hh but he didn’t seem to know it. Needless to say Zipper had just found his new home.
Serge had developed a strong love for the Trakehner breed, struck by their elegance. Therefore decided to buy his first one, a four month old stud colt named Julian. A beautiful chestnut with such wonderful movement and now Zipper’s new friend. In the summer of 1998, I made my first visit to Serge’s farm. Myself having grown up on a horse farm, I could appreciate the hard work that had been put in. It wasn’t until I walked to the edge of the property that overlooked the river and realized that I had come home to my dream farm. Since then, Serge and I have never looked back. In October 2003, Serge and I traveled to Germany chasing our dream! Les Elevages Mallet Barsalou proudly introduces to you our Trakehner Verband approved Stallion Titulus! Our love for horses has led us on many adventures, travels and developing friendships all over the world! Our dream is far from over.......
